Situated in the Aravis Massif not far from its larger neighbour La Clusaz, this small pleasant village has managed to retain its traditional alpine charm, whilst steadily growing to become the second major ski resort in the area. Skiing is mainly geared for beginners and intermediates, but all levels are well catered for on the Aravis ski pass which covers the resorts of La Clusaz and St Jean de Sixt with regular half hourly ski buses connecting these areas. Most of the skiing accommodation is sited 6kms up the road from the old town at the satellite village of Le Chinaillon, and close to the ski slopes of Mont Lachat. At an altitude of 1300m this annex has been developed in an appealing alpine chalet style, and is generally livelier than Le Grand Bornand village.

Seefeld’s cross-country trails are some of the best in the Alps. Or perhaps as a possible alternative suggestion how about Kittila (Levi) in Finland? - Our accommodation in Levi enjoy a purpose-built village of hotels and cabins at the foot of its slopes.
