The sun-drenched Vars and its ski area "La Forêt Blanche" is one of the most popular winter sports resorts in the southern Mediterranean Alps. The modern ski resort comprises 4 villages: St. Marcellin, St. Marie, St. Catherine and Les Claux - the whole resort is especially popular with families and children, as well young people. Due to it's altitude at 1,850 m, Vars belongs to those resorts in France with terrific snow conditions, in spite of the many hours of sunshine during winter.
